Write1Sub1 Week #10 Check-In

Sunday, 13 March 2011

Sunday is Write1Sub1 Weekly check-in day. I'm posting updates on my short fiction output here as well as over on the main Write1Sub1 blog.

Writing and Submitting
  • Fantasy short story The Library at the Centre of the World written - to be edited and submitted next week.
  • SF thriller Malware from week #9 simmered down nicely to 7,500 words and has now been submitted.
  • Twitter story Pounce written and submitted to PicFic
  • 5x5 piece Bonemeal from week #4 accepted by 5x5 Fiction.

  1. Congrats on the efforts. I'm working on editing one MS... I was feeling pretty awesome until I read your list!

  2. Repeats to self: 'must not compare to other writers.' *laughs*

Simon, your output is incredible. Are you always like this? I've had another faff week. Thank goodness for poems.

  3. Your story "Bonemeal" will haunt me for a long time. So well done.

  4. Simon, you truly are talented! The line story, that was just sad. I hope you go over and read what I wrote...

And I think your submission to 5x5 was clearly the best of the whole group. It was clever...and creepy :)

    Have a great Sunday!

  5. Congrats on the acceptances! You are a shining example for us all to follow.

  6. MJ,

Thanks. And you are awesome. Comparing yourself with other writers is a fool's game. I know because I do it all the time!

  7. Deborah,

Hah! You're way more prolific than I. And, yes, as I said to MJ, comparing yourself is rarely constructive.

I don't know if I'm always like this. I don't even know what it is I'm like!

  8. Angel,

Many, many thanks for publishing Bonemeal. I'm delighted you liked it.

  9. Words Crafter,

You say the nicest things. I couldn't see any comments on the Hypotenuse story - maybe they've not been moderated yet. I'll obviously check back but thanks anyway.

    Have a great Sunday yourself!

  10. Ellie,

It's lovely of you to say. I don't really feel like I shine much though!

  11. Looking good!! Onwards and upwards!! Take care

  12. Thanks Old Kitty - steady progress I hope!

I'd love to know what you think.
